Late Thursday morning, March 19, the Qury fire outside Custer sat at 9,161 acres burned and 44% containment. The Qury fire started a week ago and the cause is undetermined.Â
The 328 firefighters assigned to the blaze have "been doing an excellent job working to establish those perimeter lines and control lines." said Todd Hoover, incident commander on the fire, at a press briefing. "We're feeling fairly confident now that we have the final acreage of the fire."
